Sunday Songbird

Two of my favorite “silly” Christmas songs this week!

“I want a hippopotamus for Christmas,
Only a hippopotamus will do,
No crocodiles, or rhinoceroseses,
I only like hippopotamuseses!
And hippopotamuses like me too!”
I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas – Gayla Peevey

“Santa baby, a 54 convertible too,
Light blue.
I’ll wait up for you dear,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.”

  1. One thing I love about Christmas is being able to “bring out” the Christmas music (these days that just means using the “Christmas” and “Christmas Faves” song lists on my iPod). I especially like alternative versions, rock and jazz. I’ve heard the hippo song, and I’ve got two versions of Santa Baby (sadly not the Kitt version), one by Madonna, and one by Everclear.

One of my favorites is the Stevie Nicks version of Silent Night:

  2. Good Post.

    Faith makes all things possible,
    Hope makes all things work,
    Love makes all things beautiful,
May you have all the three for
    This Christmas.
    Merry Christmas.
